I recently hired Dexter. As I discussed with the owner, the first night the leisure battery was so low, the heater would not run. After that the smell of diesel was so strong in the van that it was uninhabitable I’m afraid. I only spent one night in it (I was fortunate that my friends had a space for me to stay and that I could change my New Year plans) and even driving it with the windows open have me a headache (sleeping was impossible) I have independent witnesses who will state that the vehicle was uninhabitable if required. I tried to clean the tank several times, but after any period of the doors being closed, the smell was what I consider a health hazard and frankly dangerous. Given that I was only able to spend one of the four hire nights in the vehicle, I believe that the owner or Goboony should offer at least a partial refund of the hire cost. I was also disappointed that having paid Goboony a £54 cleaning fee, that I was asked to pay ANOTHER £50 cleaning fee by the owner. Over £100 to clean a small van that wasn’t even very clean I consider excessive.
