Great trip covering nearly 500 miles in this VW which has been professionally converted allowing space and comfort. Home from home feel as fully equipped including a freezer compartment, 4 burner hob and grill allowing us to experience some off grid camping. Ruaridh gave us a full induction which gave me the confidence to enjoy the time spent in this great vehicle also knowing he was at the end of the phone was a great example of his passion for you to enjoy your time spent with the VW. We were also given a lift back to the station on our return which was so helpful. Giugno 2025

We had an absolutely amazing experience! The campervan is incredibly well-equipped – it truly has everything you could possibly need. It’s very easy to drive, with the perfect size for manoeuvring and parking, while still offering a comfortable and spacious interior for two people. Ideal especially for those who don’t yet have much experience driving a van. Everything went smoothly with both collection and return, and Ruaridh worked alongside us to quickly overcome any small issues that came up along the way. The deposit was promptly refunded, and the whole process was completely transparent and honest. Ruaridh is exceptionally helpful, honest, and trustworthy. He was always just a call or message away, ready to assist whenever needed. It’s clear he has great care and affection for his campervans – you can really see it in the effort he puts into their upkeep, maintenance, and thoughtful optimisation. I can't explain how amazing my experience was with Ruaridh and the T4. Ruaridh put so much care and thought into everything about this experience. The van was kitted out with everything you would ever need to enjoy your trip and he explains everything so well. He also helped me out with recommendations which again were all very considered the the type of holiday I needed. I felt so well equipped for my journey in every aspect thatnks to his care and detail. I had the most amazing trip full of walks, hikes, wildlife, reading and stunning sunsets. It was genuinely touching to see how excited Ruaridh was to hear about my adventures. I couldn't have asked for more. I also got to meet Ruaridhs lovely partner Julia who makes truly beautiful pottery. I purchased two mugs and will think of this trip whenever I have a cup of tea and reflect on this mini adventure. I fell in love with the van and was very sad to say goodbye but I'll definitely be back and would wholeheartedly recommend hiring from this fine fellow. Our motorhome broke down and we hired thermos to do the NC500. Ruaridh’s help in a really stressful situation was first class. He helped with our plans and was easily contactable throughout our trip. Thermos is a versatile campervan and is ideal for the single lanes of the highlands. We are already thinking of hiring her again for next year. We came quite attached to the van and we’re sorry to say goodbye. Maggio 2025

We had the most amazing time, it was truly remarkable! The van was excellent but my partner and I both agreed that the trip wouldn’t have been the same without Ruaridh and all his careful help. Firstly, the booking process and planning phases were seamless. Ruaridh was attentive and provided incredibly detailed information making the process stress-free. He was patient with us whilst we sent over documents for insurance. When we sent incorrect document Ruaridh was polite and understanding. Ruaridh kindly offered to collect us from the airport which made things much easier, it was a great added service and certainly one we didn’t expect. Ruaridh kindly took the time to share his knowledge and advice for our adventure and the suggestions made were perfect – we will forever be grateful to him for sharing his hidden gems with us. The beaches and campsites he suggested were spectacular, far exceeding our expectations. The van is FAB! It was reliable, sturdy and warm – the perfect road trip companion. Ruaridh’s initial instructions were clear and we felt confident heading off into the wild with our trusty steed. He was cosy [maybe more so with the weather we experienced] but that’s what we expected. When we did have questions [mainly because we were being foolish] Ruaridh’s attentiveness was much appreciated. We both commented it was very reassuring knowing someone was back at base, on hand to help should we need. If you’re considering renting a van in Scotland you MUST rent off Ruaridh, he is knowledgeable, kind and incredibly humble. We have already told many of our friends that if they travel to Scotland they must use one of Ruaridh’s vans. From start to end our experience was magic. We will certainly return! Ottobre 2024

What an excellent experience from start to finish. Ruaridh gave a thorough run through of everything we needed to know and made some suggestions about the route we should take which actually made our trip so much better. He was relaxed and put us at ease even offered us a coffee. The whole trip was magical and the best trip/holiday we have ever had in large part due to the suggestions made by ruaridh. He was available by text for any issues/questions we had. The van was great no issues at all and was perfect for the trip we did. I would not hesitate to recommend ruaridh and his van to anyone who might be interested. I would definitely hire this vehicle again. Ottobre 2024

My partner and I spent a 6-7 days roadtrip with super Ruaridh’s campervan around the Isle of Skye and the west coast, and it’s been one of our best roadtrips ever, or probably the best! The campervan, even if it looks “from the 2000”, is in an amazing condition and driving it has been a pleasure. The camper part is very new and built with all the details and very well thought out. Ruaridh has been very nice and one of the key pieces to have such a wonderful experience. He helped us to plan the roadtrip and gave us lots of very good tips for it. Ruaridh was a kind and helpful host who gave us a very detailed induction who also responded quickly to any queries that we had whilst on the road. Our road trip took us all around the NC500 and also across to Skye over 9 days. The camper van was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and although small, it was very comfortable. Thermos was also very easy to navigate through the single tracked, sometimes steep and winding roads without any problems at all. We enjoyed our road trip very much and would not hesitate in recommending Ruaridh as a host and Thermos as a camper van. We had the most wonderful time and made some very special memories. Ruaridh was the perfect host for our first time campervan experience. We did the NC500 and the van was amazing and had everything we needed, it was the perfect size for even the windy roads. Bed was super comfy and was very cosy even in the rain and wind. He is clearly passionate about his van and talked us through every little detail that we could possibly need to know for our trip. Ruaridh is a friendly, kind and well organised owner who has thought of everything to make the rental go smoothly. The van is well appointed and reliable and gives you a motoring experience from a slightly earlier time which I liked. I did nearly 900 miles in it and it didn’t miss a beat. Highly recommended.
