Exploring Madeira in a campervan was an incredible experience. I was a bit nervous at first about driving those narrow roads, but it turned out to be surprisingly manageable — and even enjoyable! Spending the night on the island is super easy, with plenty of free parking spots, especially near hiking trails. That was actually a huge plus — we could sleep right at the starting point and be the first ones on the trail in the morning. The campervan had a unique charm and came with everything we needed: a camping shower, a toilet, and it didn’t consume much diesel. Plus, Madeira has lots of free public toilets and water taps, which made things even more convenient. If you’re considering it — go for it. I strongly recommend this way of experiencing Madeira!

Great experience! The van is perfect for a slow ride across Madeira, we roam around the island and never had an issue with the notorious Madeira roads. Being an old van, of course it doesn't run fast and you need to be confident with your gear shifting skills but nothing out of regular manual car driving. The space inside is tiny but sufficient to get the rest among the many adventures of the island. After all is a van not a campervan or an hotel (!) The owners are trustworthy and very responsive to any doubts or curiosity. 5/5 Highly recommended

This little van was such a wonderful companion on the beautiful island of Madeira! The roads are steep and bendy but she is able for it slow and steady. She brought us to the top of the mountains and to so many beautiful spots to sleep. I would definitely recommend this van, we had her for 5 nights and it was a really great experience. We have had an incredible time with Famcampervan! The van is just amazing and can tackle even the steepest roads of Madeira, which there are so many. Comes with all the necessary equipment to enjoy even an extended stay. Mauricio has been very helpful and responsive. We have loved our stay on the island and the van has definitely been one of the best highlights! Will definitely rent again when we come back next time!
