Giugno 2024
Risposta da Gill Unfortunately for me this is a retaliation review, as you will see from my previous reviews I have had no previous problems with any of my hires. What actually happened is as follows: Kevin hired my camper and yes I sent it with 3/4 fuel to be returned with 3/4 fuel (this is the first time I’ve done this and moving forward I will go back to sending the tank full to avoid any problems on return). Kevin never mentioned to me that the fuel had dropped down when he left (I only found this out when I tried to claim back fuel that Kevin hadn’t replaced as agreed), if he had let me know of course I would have agreed for it to be returned with less fuel, but he didn’t, which I found strange as if it were me The first thing I would’ve done would be to contact the Hire and explain what it happened with a photo, so I can’t help but feel that this didn’t actually happen. On return of the camper When I checked the fuel level I didn’t start the engine but just turned the ignition, the level did go to 3/4 but it took quite some time to do so, but we completed the ppw and parted ways. At this point Kevin was very happy and even said he would hire the camper again next year. I then spent 2 hours cleaning the inside of the camper and started the engine to move it to clean the outside. As soon as I started the engine the fuel immediately dropped from 3/4 level. My lesson learned is to start the engine when checking fuel in the future as clearly it hadn’t been returned with enough fuel. I then messaged Kevin to explain the problem and he immediately got aggressive with me with a similar attitude to that in his review and said he had put £41 in for fuel and had driven 241 miles, which equates to 17p per mile. The camper does 29p per mile and so ultimately Kevin has not put enough fuel in to cover the mileage he had done. I politely requested the additional Fuel and Kevin then immediately threatened me with legal action so I had to refer it to Goboony to resolve. My camper is 10 years old and has a few scuffs in it which are always marked on the hire ppw and photos are always taken on collection and return as per Goboony policy. I am by far from a greedy Hirer and I only hire my Camper to contribute towards its running costs. I’m really saddened by Kevin‘s attitude and review as it could not be further from the truth.
