We rented the van for 8 nights after staying 2 nights in an Edinburgh hotel and went north to Pitlochry, Aviemore, Inverness, Loch Ness, Skye, Glencoe and Stirling. We drove around 660 miles and used about 100 litres of fuel. It was an easy journey to get to Lorna's in North Berwick and the handover was smooth. Everything was provided including towels and bedding which is unusual for van hire but was great for us arriving in Edinburgh by plane. Lorna sent some videos in advance of the more tricky things. The van was easy to drive being an automatic, but it is 5.6m long, which gives lots of interior space but needs a bit more attention when parking as it's longer than most cars. The van is bit wider than a normal car, which means you need to get used to being further from the kerb as the driver, but it's not a problem at all on the many narrow and single track roads in the Highlands. We stayed 3 nights on camp sites including the first and last nights and wild camped the other nights. The views can be amazing when wild camping, but there's no toilet or shower in the van so you need to make unusual arrangements by yourself. It was easy to find places to wild camp when we went in May, but that might not be the case in high season. We declined Lorna's offer of a gas BBQ, but later thought it would have been a good idea as it would have been possible to cook outside the van which because there's no extractor in the kitchen part can make condensation or smells.
