We had an amazing experience with Happy and I genuinely loved the campervan so much that I came home wanting one of my own! :) The van was an absolute pleasure to drive, very comfortable and surprisingly spacious for four people. We all slept incredibly well, around eight hours every night, and the full blackout blinds made a huge difference. Everything felt well designed and the van was a brilliant little home for our festival weekend. One thing worth knowing if you are planning to stay completely off-grid is that the microwave and 230V sockets only work when connected to mains hook-up, they don’t operate from the leisure battery or even while the engine is running. The fridge can run from the leisure battery, but we found that this drained the battery quite quickly. It worked perfectly while we were driving to the festival, but once parked on site we needed to start the engine a few times to recharge the leisure battery and keep the fridge going. Obviously, running an engine while parked isn’t ideal because of the fumes, particularly around other campervans, so this is something worth considering for a completely off-grid stay. We were fortunate that it was extremely windy and could do this safely without causing an issue for those around us. There was also no portable toilet supplied. This was understandable given that we were attending a festival campervan park rather than a conventional campsite, although having the option of one would have been really useful and we would happily have taken responsibility for keeping it clean and hygienic. Andrew was extremely accommodating, particularly regarding our collection and return times, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a fantastic first campervan experience. Comfortable, incredibly easy to drive, brilliant to sleep in and such a lovely way to experience a festival. We absolutely loved Happy and would happily do it all over again! :)
