At first, the pick-up location was difficult to find, as it was situated in a large shopping centre parking lot. Communication with the host was challenging, as they only spoke English via Google Translate. For a first-time renter, this might be an unexpected since explanations and necessary instructions might be insufficient and sometimes unclear. From the outside, the vehicle looked fine except few minor faults. Inside, however, it became apparent that the camper had undergone several rushed repairs. There appeared to have been damage to a side door, and the repair was not airtight, causing noticeable outside noise while driving. The door could not be opened from the inside, as the handle was broken, and the owner provided us with pliers to use during our 10-day trip. Additionally, the rear right luggage hatch did not open, although we were able to access the space from the other side and from inside the vehicle. Throughout the interior, there were visible signs of quick fixes: sofa cushions screwed into place but already coming loose again, screw holes and tape marks in several areas. The shower door could not be opened from the inside. The ladder to the rear bed had a broken top step. Some blinds did not function at all, while others were clearly close to breaking. The lower rear bed was very uncomfortable and sagging. On a positive note, the living area was equipped with all essential items we needed, including basics such as salt and pepper. However, it was unclear why a 5-litre pot was provided when there was only one soup plate. While the above issues were relatively minor, the main source of stress during our trip was the heating system and hot water. The water system only worked if turned on and used immediately, and then switched off right away. On one occasion, when it was left on for 15–20 minutes, the hot water pipe burst. According to the owner, this is something that typically happens if hot water is left on for too long. If 15–20 minutes is considered “too long”, this seems highly unusual. Because of this, we also used the gas stove as little as possible and always turned it off immediately after use. The heating system caused further issues. In early January, nights in the Canary Islands can be quite cool, so additional heating is necessary. Unfortunately, one morning when we turned on the gas heating, the same hot water pipe burst again. This gave the impression that something in the system was not functioning correctly, as we were following the owner’s instructions. Both incidents occurred while we were staying on neighbouring islands. The vehicle is equipped with a tracking device, allowing the owner to monitor your location and driving behaviour. On the positive side, the vehicle had sufficient power for driving in mountainous areas, and the reversing camera was a helpful feature (although in bright sunlight the screen was often difficult to see). Fuel consumption was relatively high. Overall, we were generally satisfied with the trip and the experience. This was our first time renting a vehicle on Yescapa from a private owner, and while the journey itself was enjoyable, the technical issues and level of uncertainty made the experience more demanding than expected. In the future, we would likely prefer to rent a campervan directly from a professional camper rental company rather than from a private individual.

Het gasvuur werkte maar gedeeltelijk waardoor het moeilijk koken was en we er een stuk gember moesten tegen leggen om het te laten werken. De handrem werkte niet altijd wat gevaarlijk is. De leefbatterij werkte niet als de zon niet scheen waardoor de elektriciteit 's avonds vaak uitviel en we de motor moesten starten om terug elektriciteit te hebben. Ook het douchen kon daardoor 's avond niet. We waren met 2 personen en de mobilhome was in feite voor 7 personen. Qua lakens was er 1 overtrek, 2 kussenslopen en 1 fleesdekentje van ikea waar we dan met 2 moesten onder liggen vermoed ik. De sluitingen/gordijnen werkten niet goed. Er was geen elektriciteitskabel aanwezig om in te pluggen op een camping wat wel geadverteerd staat dat dit wel aanwezig was. De TV werkte niet.  De kilometerstand was meer dan 30000 KM terwijl er op de advertentie tussen 15000 en 30000 km stond.  Er was geen aanrijdingsformulier in de mobilhome waardoor we deze het ongeval ergens moeten gaan zoeken zijn. 

Todos perfecto!! El dueño o amigo del dueño fue súper amable. El vehículo por dentro es como en las fotos, muy cómodo y muy grande!!!

Una autocaravana a todo lujo, espectacular por dentro y con gran potencia. El conductor siempre atento para resolver nuestras dudas. Ha sido una experiencia genial.
