Il Kub: il camper di lusso per eccellenza? Non credo proprio. Molti danni alla carrozzeria esterna, vari elementi di finitura mancanti o fissati con nastro adesivo. Condizioni interne simili, zanzariera della porta d'ingresso rotta e riparata con nastro adesivo, porta scorrevole della camera da letto staccata dal meccanismo di supporto, varie porte e maniglie allentate, sedile del conducente non girevole per poter mangiare, vite della cinghia di fissaggio della porta della doccia pieghevole mancante che permette alla porta di sventolare durante la guida, tazze lasciate sporche nell'armadio dai precedenti affitti ecc., ecc. Il riscaldamento e l'acqua calda erano, nella migliore delle ipotesi, instabili, nella peggiore, a malapena funzionanti. Il pianale posteriore è progettato per sollevarsi tramite un meccanismo a manovella, consentendo di riporre biciclette e altri oggetti nel garage posteriore. Nonostante le rassicurazioni del proprietario di Kub, Owen, il meccanismo non funzionava, il pianale non si sollevava e abbiamo dovuto smontare parzialmente le nostre biciclette per poterle riporre in garage. Abbiamo tenuto il furgone solo per 5 dei 30 giorni prenotati e pagati, prima di rinunciare e restituirlo. In quei 5 giorni, il furgone si è rifiutato di avviarsi circa 8 volte, l'ultima delle quali mentre stavamo cercando di scendere dal treno del Tunnel della Manica, costringendoci a far aspettare tutti per circa 10 minuti prima che decidesse di ripartire. Potrei continuare, basti dire che questo furgone ha avuto una vita difficile. Allora perché abbiamo accettato il furgone quando siamo andati a ritirarlo? Me lo sono chiesto molte volte nelle ultime settimane, ma aspettavamo questa vacanza da mesi, avevamo prenotato tutto, campeggi, Tunnel della Manica ecc., avevamo pianificato gli itinerari. Insomma, non vedevamo l'ora di partire, ma non avremmo mai dovuto firmare e metterci in viaggio. Dato che avevamo il furgone per una notte prima di attraversare il Tunnel della Manica, pensavo che avremmo potuto sistemare alcune cose e così abbiamo fatto. Abbiamo stretto diverse maniglie delle porte, messo dei feltrini tra le ante degli armadietti per evitare rumori, riattaccato la cinghia di fissaggio della porta della doccia. Il furgone era molto più silenzioso da guidare la mattina successiva, quando siamo partiti. Ma il letto posteriore non si poteva alzare, mancava un perno, e a quel punto non eravamo a conoscenza dei problemi al riscaldamento o all'immobilizzatore. Se la situazione fosse stata inversa e i difetti di un veicolo di mia proprietà che avevo noleggiato avessero impedito a qualcuno di andare in vacanza, sarei stato mortificato. Owen è sembrato turbato, ha mostrato rimorso o ha offerto una qualche spiegazione, per non parlare di scuse, quando abbiamo restituito il furgone con tre settimane di anticipo? No, non l'ha fatto. A mio avviso, ci sono solo due spiegazioni per il fatto che il furgone sia stato offerto a noleggio nelle condizioni in cui lo abbiamo ricevuto: o Owen era perfettamente a conoscenza delle condizioni del furgone e ha taciuto, oppure credeva sinceramente che fosse il camper di lusso per eccellenza che descrive su Goboony. Nel primo caso, è disonesto; nel secondo, è illuso. Consiglio a chiunque stia pensando di noleggiare un furgone da qualsiasi società di noleggio di visionare e provare il veicolo prima di versare qualsiasi somma di denaro. Non ho mai pubblicato una recensione negativa per nessuna vacanza che ho fatto negli ultimi 50 anni, ma il mio consiglio è che se state cercando un camper a noleggio su Goboony o altrove e ne trovate uno con la targa KUB, cercate altrove. Great experience. Owen very kindly delivered the Kub to us and took us through all the details and some of his personal stories with his family on board of the motorhome. Thanks to the app and his knowledge we got all the admin sorted promptly. And off we went on a small adventure not too far, it was more about getting a first experience. The Kub was surprisingly easy to drive and despite a couple of night at -2 degrees we were warm and cosy inside. Owen was available to answer any questions and then pick it up from us at the end of our adventure. Definitely to try again in the spring. Novembre 2025

With no experience in motorhoming whatsoever, from the get go, Owen was extremely helpful with booking and giving tips and tricks before we even arrived at the Motorhome. On handover, everything was seamless, Owen was a really friendly and approachable guy which made the experience a whole lot easier and enjoyable! He took time to go through each and every quirk on the motorhome that we would need to know about for our trip and how to use all the amenities. He answered any questions we had and using the Goboony app, the handover all in all was a breeze. We then set off on our trip with a smile and wave from Owen and told to have fun! The motorhome itself was fabulous, we headed all the way to Northern Ireland for the Golf Open with 4 guys in total and there was plenty of space. Loads of storage, super clean, and a dream to drive, was like driving a sofa, you barely notice you’re doing anything one that cruise control is on! In summary, the motorhome was perfect and exactly what we needed for all our golf clubs, food, bags and the bbq Owen provided which was made frequent appearances once we pitched up! Any issues, Owen was just a text away and would be more than happy to help answer queries. Would highly recommend the KUB to anyone thinking of booking that trip in a fancy motorhome and with Owen as the host, you’ll have nothing to worry about. First of all, the handover from Owen was exceptional. This is the 3rd year in a row I have hired a motorhome, but the way Owen explains everything and his genuine happy manor and approach makes it all a very easy and pleasant experience. We were using the Motorhome while attending the F1 British GP, and Owen even contacted us during the first day to make sure everything was ok and was interested in our adventure. The motorhome looks superb from the outside and inside and was very easy to drive. I would highly recommend hiring and we will be looking to connect with Owen again in the future on the Kub’s availability 😊 Luglio 2025

From start to finish our experience with Owen and the Kub was fab! Owen is super helpful and extremely knowledgable about the Kub and all her workings so can answer any questions you may have while you’re away. The Kub is a dream to holiday in! Both beds are incredibly comfortable and she has everything you could possibly need - from huge garage for storage, bike rack, fully kitted out kitchen, BBQ, outdoor mat and table and chairs so you can beautifully set up your home from home! We had 4 days in the new forest with the Kub and loved it so much we booked her for a full month in August 2024 for a European adventure. We are already working out when our next get away can be!
