'Dave' is everything you need for a campervan holiday. He's confy and great to drive. These are the essential qualities and I didn't realise they were until I holidayed with 'Dave' and my elderly dog. Mel and Keith are warm, friendly people who really want you to have the best time in their van. I loved how there were items stored in the van I wouldn't have thought of bringing. We have nothing but excellent things to say about our experience renting 'Dave' the van from Melanie. The handover was straightforward and covered all important information and details. The van itself was great to drive. Everything in the van is in excellent condition. Setting the bed up to sleep is super easy and we both slept really well. It's the first time we've rented a van and would definitely do it again, as long as 'Dave' is available. 10/10 would recommend!! Agosto 2025

We had a great experience travelling with “Dave”! Below we detail out experience travelling with this converted campervan. **Highlights:** - The king-size bed is plenty spacious. I’m 195cm tall and slept comfortably. - The van has plenty of power and was able to handle steep 25% inclines. - The gas oven is fantastic, we enjoyed delicious pizzas and quiches. - The fridge works well and keeps everything cool. There is even a small freezer compartment. - The toilet and shower with hot water are a real luxury. - Heating works well, even though it doesn’t blow directly on the windows. In practice, this wasn’t an issue thanks to the window defroster. - Comfortable seats and plenty of kitchen utensils. - The many windows made it feel very spacious, even when we stayed in when it rained. - Communication with Melanie was excellent. She’s kind, thoughtful, and welcomed us with a cup of tea – it felt very warm and personal. **Things to be aware of:** - Upon arrival, the overflow tray under the chemical toilet was full of urine. We had to clean it ourselves. - One rear tyre was flat due to a loose valve, but this was fixed after noticing and before we continued our journey. - I noticed the front tyres were worn before departure but didn’t mention it at the time. Later during the trip I told Melanie, and she promised to replace them right after our return – a very reassuring response. - There is no gray waste tank. The water used in the sink and shower flows directly onto the ground. **Tip for future renters:** - Double-check that the front tyres have been replaced and inspect the toilet setup before heading off. - Be sure to bring a sleeping mask to ensure a good night's sleep. **Overall impression:** “Dave” may be a bit cluttered in layout, but that adds to its charm. It’s well-equipped, comfortable, and reliable. Melanie’s care and responsiveness made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We took Dave to Scotland for 2 weeks and it was the time of our lives. The owner Mel made the whole of difference, in my experience of hiring vans/cars you know there are always potential issues around every corner but having someone that can promptly help and be friendly makes such a difference. The campervan was comfortable, the bed was very large, the kitchen had everything you needed, the little fairy lights made it very cozy at night and we managed to get some insane views as you can see from the pictures. We'll never forget this holiday Giugno 2025

Era la prima volta che facevo un viaggio in camper e devo dire che non sarà l'ultima. La consegna di Dave è stata impeccabile, abbiamo disfatto le valigie e siamo partiti per la Scozia nel giro di pochi minuti, mentre la nostra auto attendeva al sicuro nel parcheggio di Melanie. Hiring 'Dave' was an exciting weekend for us, as we're thinking of buying similar in a couple of years. Mel made the whole process really easy, and she tried to think of everything to make our weekend special. The handover was quick and smooth and we were on the road in no time. The van had been thoroughly cleaned, was full of fuel, and drove well as we headed down the A1 to Rutland Water. Having hired smaller VW vans previously, it was a joy sleeping in Dave's king size bed conversion. Having full facilities on the van ensured no cold night time trips to a nearby toilet. The van was well equipped and the conversion well thought out, plenty of storage space and pretty much all you need for being self sufficient for a few days. Mel was on hand to assist when we had a couple of questions about electrics etc. - much appreciated! Our last night was a stay over at Tan Hill Inn, ideal for a pub car park/meal stopover (photo attached). The van was warm and cosy in both our locations. Hand over at the end was easy, Mel was keen to hear where we'd been and of small suggestions for future improvements (eg blackout blinds). Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both Dave as a van and Mel as owner. Thank you so much! Luglio 2024
